Golden Gate ferries are running again after a one-day strike disrupted service across San Francisco Bay.
Workers represented by the Inlandboatmen's Union walked off the job Saturday, forcing the cancellation of ferries operated by Golden Gate between Larkspur, Sausalito and San Francisco.
Ferry and union officials say service has resumed after workers returned to work Sunday.
The union's regional director, Marina Secchitano, says the strike was called after nearly a year of negotiations over workloads and other matters.
Several hours after workers walked off the job, California Gov. Jerry Brown issued a statement saying he was appointing a board to investigate. The governor claimed the day strike had created what he termed "a significant disruption to public transportation services and endangered the public's health, safety and welfare."
Secchitano disputed the governor's claim, referring to the investigation as "an action to try to silence us."

A 16-year-old boy was killed in what appears to be a gang-related shooting in San Jose late Saturday night, a police lieutenant said early Sunday morning.
Police received reports of a shooting around 11:55 p.m. in the 1600 block of Virginia Avenue, according to San Jose police Lt. Jason Dwyer.
Arriving officers determined that two males had been shot there. One of the victims, a 16-year-old boy, died from his injuries a short time later, Dwyer said.
Police said the other victim - whose personal information was being withheld - was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspects fled the scene of the shooting and remain at large, Dwyer said.
The fatal shooting is San Jose's 16th homicide this year.
